Citroën DS23 Break – electrified

The Citroën DS may well be called the goddess of the avant-garde. With all its technical innovations, it outshined many expensive luxury limousines at that time. And even today, these vehicles impress with their unbelievable driving comfort. This is further emphasised by the conversion to electric drive.

Motor and transmission

A PHI301 disc-rotor electric motor from Phi-Power is used to replace the combustion engine. The existing gearbox and differential were replaced by a custom-built differential designed for electric drive. The motor has a maximum power of 95 kW (129 hp) and a maximum torque of 450 Nm.

Battery box in front

Front batteries, connected in series with the batteries in the rear, with a total energy of 66 kWh and a nominal voltage of 625 V. A battery management system (BMS) monitors and controls the individual cells.

Hydropneumatic system

For the hydropneumatic system, the original pump was replaced by a dedicated electrically operated pump and its inverter. The rest of the system remains original.

Battery box rear

Rear batteries, connected in series with the front batteries, with a total energy of 66 kWh and a nominal voltage of 625 V. A battery management system (BMS) monitors and controls the individual cells.

Control unit

Controls and monitors the engine and the power electronics.

Inverter

An RMS PM150DZR from Cascadiamotion is used as the inverter. This converts the battery's DC voltage into the AC voltage required by the motor and controls the motor.

Charger

The charger has an output of 22 kW and is powered by a 3-phase type 2 charging socket.

High-voltage power distribution

Power distribution and fuse protection is provided by the Fusion800 high-voltage distribution system from Suncar HK.
