Mit der Unterst\u00fctzung der richtigen Partner heisst es da klar: Ja!<\/p>\n<p>Die gr\u00f6sste Baustelle lag sicherlich in der Kunststoffbearbeitung. Zun\u00e4chst einmal mussten der alte rote Lack und vor allem die ganze Spachtelmasse weg. Danach ging es an einen regelrechten Neuaufbau der Carrosserie. Denn mit vielen Glasfasern und viel Harz wurden nicht nur L\u00f6cher gestopft, teilweise mussten auch ganze Bereiche neu aufgebaut werden.<\/p>\n<p>Da aber auch ein Kunststoffauto nicht ohne Metall auskommt, gab es auch dort einiges zu tun. Entrosten, entmetallisieren, verzinken, pulverbeschichten, ent- und neu verchromen, und gewisse Dinge g\u00e4nzlich neu anfertigen oder neu kaufen. Denn dem Auto fehlte so manches Kleinteil, vom Corvette-Schriftzug bis hin zu den R\u00fccklichtern.<\/p>\n<p>Zum Gl\u00fcck gibt es f\u00fcr solche Fahrzeuge tats\u00e4chlich noch das eine oder andere Neuteil, teilweise von GM selbst, teilweise von Drittanbietern. Und f\u00fcr uns klang das mit den Neuteilen erstmal auch super. Neuteil bestellen, einbauen, fertig! Naja, ganz so einfach dann doch nicht. Schnell durften wir lernen, dass \u00abready to mount\u00bb wohl eher als \u00absieh mal zu, wie du das passend machst\u00bb verstanden werden darf.<\/p>\n<p>Bevor es dann aber an die Endmontage ging, stand noch eine wichtige Entscheidung an. Die Farbwahl. Denn unsere Corvette soll strahlen und alle Blicke auf sich ziehen. Da kam eignetlich nur etwas in Frage. Und so verwandelte der Lackierer die ehemalige \u00ablittle red corvette\u00bb in eine gelbe Sch\u00f6nheit.<\/p>\n<p>Allerdings vorerst eine herzlose \u2013 \u00e4hm pardon \u2013 motorlose Sch\u00f6nheit, wie manchem schon aufgefallen sein durfte.
