Battery upgrade for two vehicles that have already been running on electric power for some time
Land Rovers prefer to drive over hill and dale rather than tarmac. And the two models that have found their way to us have been doing so silently for a while now.
The older one, a Series I lovingly named eLandy by its owner, was electrified in Winterthur around 10 years ago. Impressing in every respect, it was followed shortly afterwards by a Defender.
Since their original conversion, a lot has of course happened in the field of battery technology, so that the range of the vehicles no longer really matched the otherwise contemporary powertrain. Accordingly, both have been upgraded by us and can now travel around twice as far.
However, the old batteries are far from obsolete. They will be given a second life as home storage units for solar power.
«eLandy» and «Defender» are already back on the road, and we are working on the home storage units.
